Campsite Bardenas is situated near the northern Spanish town of Villafranca, close to nature reserve Bardenas Reales. Bardenas is situated in a quiet area amidst nature. Not much tourism in evidence. The campsite lies along a main road. This minor issue is more than compensated for by the presence of the sun, the large swimming pool and the excellent restaurant.

The toilet and shower block were adequate but not enough cubicles and people constantly waiting. There were many lose dogs and children playing around the vans, our camper was hit 3 times by a football. Extremely noisy site and very cramped. There is also nowhere to walk dogs as it’s on a very busy road. We left early and had a peaceful breakfast in a parking area a few km away.
