Domaine de L’Orangerie de Lanniron is in a beautiful location next to the River Odet at the southern edge of the beautiful, historic town of Quimper. The well maintained campging site is located in the park of a 17th century castle. The spacious campsites (80 to 160 m2) are separated by flowers and bushes. You have the choice of a spot with much, some or no shade.

17th century gardens

The campsite is nicely laid out next to the castle (a private estate) on a 6.5 hectare property. You have a lovely view of the river Odet, the orangerie and the gardens, laid out as they were at the end of the 17th century. Due to the tidal danger, swimming is prohibited. You can take a trip with the canoe and kayak club on the river.

Swimming paradise

There is a lovely heated swimming pool (750 m2) with rock fountains, massage benches, jacuzzis and three slides. There are separate kiddie pools with slide for the littlest children.

There is a restaurant/bar with terrace next to the pool. You can get snacks and take away meals on the campsite.

In the restaurant, a restored farm, there is plenty of choice of weekly changing traditional French dishes. Grocery items and regional products (fresh bread) are available in the camping shop. On the terrace you'll find two playgrounds (with trampoline and bouncy cushions) and sports fields (tennis, pony rides). For children there is an activity programme and a mini club (English and French).

Castle Park

The castle park with the 17th century gardens and a large park is 38 hectares: here you'll find Italian baroque and French classical style in the designs. Surely worth a visit.

Travelling party: Seniors

Liked - 4 nights in one of the chalets. Check in was quick and friendly, the chalet v clean and modern. Stunning house. Beautiful location. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub sauna.

Liked - Well situated, secure, visited out of season so quiet . City amenities within walking/cycle distance.
Disliked - Toilet facilities were good but only half were open for use and the ones that were open the lights and heaters were turned off ,hot water for washing up was intermittent.
The chemical toilet needs replacing,there is no flushing facilities apart from a hosepipe and it was situated on open wooden deck which meant any spillages were difficult to clean down.

Beautiful grounds and walks
Disliked - Not putting us on a pitch that looked as if it had been dug up, when there were empty pitches around. Also having some recycling/rubbish disposal closer than several hundred meters away

Liked - A well laid out, large campsite with lots to see and do. Two pools, a restaurant and bar. Beautiful gardens behind the (private) chateau. Reception staff were lovely and the shower block was top notch.

Liked - Great facilities, covered pool a real bonus. Walking distance into Quimper.
Disliked - Inform guests of close proximity of Orangerie. When we stayed, there was a wedding - the loud music stayed on all through the night until 8.30am!!! Not only the music all night, but wedding guests walking through the campsite, meant for very little sleep that night.

Liked - Sehr höflicher Empfang in Englisch. Große Stellplätze auf sehr geplegter Anlage. Für alle offene Parkanlage. Ausgiebiges spazieren/flanieren ist möglich. Sehr saubere Sanitäranlagen. Wir würden wiederkommen!
