A gem of a site! We arrived after a very long drive from Normandy to a warm & friendly welcome from Pascal & Maryse. Pascal directed us to our shady pitch under the trees which was spacious enough to put up our awning. The shade was welcome in the warmer temperatures, especially as we have a dog. All facilities are kept immaculately clean. We ordered bread at Reception which has a small shop selling forgotten basics & ice-cream! The gardens are beautifully tended & there is a communal room with TV, fridge & additional tables & chairs for campers use. We explored Vermenton, a lovely town, with its beautifully preserved communal wash house, vets, cafe/bars/restaurants charcuterie & boulangerie. We stopped at the Cafe de La Gare for a thirst quenching Leffe before returning to the campsite. Good for dog walking beside the lake & towards the canal basin. An excellent stopover but so relaxing for a longer stay!
