Camping de Montréal

Some may call the Limousine region the real France, as it has not been invaded by mass tourism yet. You can still find peace and quiet, yet there is enough to do. Camping Municipal de Montréal is located in this tranquil region, next to a swimming and fishing lake and only a stone's throw away from Nature Park Millevaches en Limousin. The attractive town of Limoges is half an hour's drive away.

Quietly located camp site on a lake with sandy beach. Neat and comfortable sanitation. Many sporting opportunities within a walking distance from a cosy town. New Dutch owners.

An absolute gem of a find. Exit 41 off A20. Lovely relaxed campsite with lovely owners (English) who also run the onsite cafe/restaurant bar etc. overlooking the lake. There is a picnic park area just outside the site with a safe children’s area etc. Words don’t really do the whole set up justice. Unfortunately this was a one night stay over due to travel bookings already in place but would definitely recommend to any caravanner or motorhomer.

We have stayed on this campsite a number of times now. It is just off the motorway and easily reached. I believe that it has changed ownership recently and the new, English owner is very friendly and welcoming. The campsite has a beautiful situation right on a lovely lake and most pitches are lakeside. There is a lovely restaurant which has a deck overlooking the lake and the “beach” and which is extremely popular with campers and locals alike (booking is advisable). The food is always delicious. We did feel that this year the cleanliness in the older toilet/shower block had slipped a little but are sure that can be easily remedied and it wouldn’t prevent us visiting again.

A lovely 2 night stop over on our way back to Calais. Alison and John have only recently taken over the site and are working hard at making this new venture a success. They are very welcoming and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The restaurant has a terrace overlooking the lake and Alison’s meals are superb. We will definitely return for a longer stay.

We arrived in need of a doctor and were immediately offered help and a GP appointment followed quickly thanks to Alison, the new owner. This is a lovely restful site with beautiful views and excellent facilities. We spent ten tranquil days here and were so grateful for the opportunity to relax and recharge the batteries.
