Only stopped for one night en route for Spain so facilities used were limited.
Perfect start to our holiday in France. Central to town and great view of the castle. Separate sanitary facilities with paper provided. Lovely views. Would stay here again.
A well located site, very close to the town but in a quiet place at the foot of the chateau. The lower pitches are well laid out with hedges as separators. The higher ones are more crowded. The facilities are dated and insufficient.
I called the site as I wanted to make sure that we would have a pitch on our first night in France. Whoever answered said to book online. I pointed out that I wanted the ACSI rate and just wanted to ask about a free pitch and was told that was OK but to book anyway. When we arrived I was told that as I booked I could not have the ACSI rate and MUST pay the full rate, or loose the deposit! All in all, I will not return.
The toilet facilities for gents are not good enough. There is only one \"sit-down\" toilet - the other two are the \"hole-in-the-ground\" ones which should have been phased out years ago.
Municipal site in the small town of Falaise. Near to the castle and town centre (10 min walk). Toilets and showers basic but ok. We found it a good stop for a couple of nights to visit the castle and look around the town. Only cash accepted at reception (no cards).
A super site to stay over for a few days, sitting below the magnificent castle and birthplace of William the Conqueror ~ and just a very short walk into the historic town of Falaise where there are many shops, bars and great restaurants. Very friendly and helpful camp wardens despite the site being very busy with visitors for a weekend of mediaeval festivities in the castle grounds. Toilets, showers and other sanitary facilities all very good. Very highly recommended!
We loved it here, it was a perfect motorhome stop, the site was clean and tidy, the facilities were a little dated but were adequate and spotlessly clean at all times and the warden was helpful and friendly.
The site is well placed, being only a ten minute walk into the town past a picturesque lake. The town of Falaise is a nice place with plenty to see and do, the Chateau is definitely worth a visit, as is the war museum and the local churches.
This site is definitely one we will be visiting again as its a perfect stop off to and from the port at Ouistreham
Nice little site, set in a great green space just below the famous castle where William the Conqueror was born, worth a visit if you are into history. Easy walk up into the town. Reception closed when we arrived (open at 4pm out of season) but we found a great pitch with a view of the castle above us. Went back later to pay and the staff were very helpful. Facilities were adequate and free wifi was available in the guest lounge/library above reception.
The site was very clean and well kept. Toilets and showers clean but could do with updating. Staff friendly and helpful. Within walking distance to the town. The site had a nice backdrop of the Chateau and a stream. Well worth a visit.
Nice municipal campsite in Falaise which means it\'s very cheap and in a fantastic location.
The view of William the Conqueror\'s castle makes it a unique place to camp for the night.
The campsite itself has free wifi at the reception / tv room - if you camp close enough you\'ll pick it up.
Tennis Courts and a Playground are also on site, and it seems in the summer they set up outdoor swimming pools.
The town of Falaise is on your doorstep - a beautiful little town with many shops / restaurants & bars and a very rich history.
A visit to the castle is a must, along with a trip to the Automates museum if you have kids.
The town itself currently has a self guided WWII walking tour along the route the Canadian Soldiers took when they liberated Falaise - I think the information boards are only temporary to celebrate the 70 years anniversary but hopefully they decide to keep them.
