At the edge of the Indre region, on the banks of the river of the same name, lies Camping Le Val Vert en Berry. This small-scale family campsite - which has the European Ecolabel and the Camping Quality label - is located in a green valley a few kilometres from the charming village of Le Châtre. The surroundings served as inspiration for the French writer George Sand in the eighteenth century. Come and visit us and you will soon see why she was so attached to this stitch.

Clean and tidy site, well laid out to give enough privacy. Helpful reception made our stay very pleasant. Reasonably priced restaurant serving good fresh food.

It's hard to think of any improvements as this is one of the best sites we have stayed at.

We have stayed here many times, it’s a great wee site nestled away in the countryside… there are lovely walks and bike trails nearby. The town of la chatre is charming and has many cafes and restaurants. The restaurant on the site is superb but you need to book !

The outstanding campsite experience we had from checking in and the friendly helpful advice provided (even showing the various facilities) sanitary facilities that are spotless and well maintained and almost clinically clean, the pitches are also well maintained and hedges etc well manicured, the restaurant is amazing and great value for the quality of food provided and has a well deserved reputation locally as well as amongst campers who have stayed here. Peaceful and quiet. I would recommend it without hesitation to others. The staff in the reception and restaurant and friendly and helpful.
