In the southern part of the Vendée, towards the bordering Charente-Maritime region, you will find a former municipal campsite, now called Camping L’Ile Cariot. The campsite is only five minutes from the centre of Chaillé-les-Marais. The campsite resembles an island in the heart of the Marais Poitevin, the renowned marshland. You can go for endless walks, cycle rides or road trips.

Simple camping with spacious, separated pitches on the edge of the village. Small heated swimming pool and paddling pool. Good sanitary facilities. Good starting point for exploring the " Venise Verte".

Spacious level pitches shaded by trees; clean showers and toilets; friendly staff; great position in Chaillé-les-Marais. The museum La Maison du Maître des Digues is well worth visiting. Good cycle rides an around the Marais Poitevin are within easy reach. The campsite even offers free canoes.

Friendly- good size pitch- rural

Was looking forward to a swim in the pool, but it was quite smaller than we thought and heaving with people so not very inviting.
