Camping Saintes Grandes Rives is just a ten-minute walk from Saintes, one of the most beautiful towns of the department of Charente-Maritime. You camp along the Charente river, where you can enjoy wonderful bicycle rides. This river also offers many options for water sports enthusiasts. Because it is located a couple of kilometres away from the A10, this campsite is often used by campsite visitors in transit.
<p>In the heart of the campsite, nestling in a green setting, the campsite's nature area is the perfect place to relax and unwind.<br>In the morning, the birdsong will be your best wake-up call.<br>To get the day off to a good start, breakfast is served in the La Guinguette restaurant.<br>You'll also find bread and pastries baked on site.</p>

We have stayed here every year for the last 3 years. Great site and great location for Saintes. The staff are great and you can park where you like.

Nice municipal campsite, lovely trees beautifully landscaped and well looked after very close to town centre with a partial cycle track in but then you have to go on the road. Fantastic Roman history to the town very pretty lots of nice restaurants and all in all we had a fantastic two night stay. The toilets are semi open air as are the showers very French and at this time of year there were no markings for the pitches We were just told go where you like so we did!!

Very helpful woman on reception but this is not a 3 star site the pool is full of green algae and the sanitaires are old and worn out, some of the showers don’t work properly. It’s a pity the town has let it go, Saintes is an interesting town with lots to see and is only a short walk away it could be so good.
