Camping de la Gères is a quietly located and child-friendly family campsite on the outskirts of the town of Surgères. With some fifty pitches, both camping pitches and rental accommodation, it is a rather small campsite. Yet all facilities are neatly and well maintained. There is a playground for children and in peak season activities are organised regularly.

toilets, only 3 were open and 2 locked and also same with the showers due to end of season. but they were reopened when more campers arrived pitch was overgrown bar pool and snack bar all closed which was a shame as did not now this would be the case before arrival. La Mets restaurant up the road was very good food and service not a lot in the town but easy 19 min walk

The pitch. The shower block. The location.

The pool is far too small. The pool wood surround is very uncomfortable &.hot to walk on. No.shoes were allowed, but we were compelled to use flip-flops because of the above reasons. During the whole 6 days we were there, the staff were cutting the hedges down which was very.noisy &.ours were done whilst we were having lunch.on our pitch!

Nathalie and Pascal are so friendly and welcoming, the place is also immaculate. The shower block is clean and fresh and toilet paper was provided in the toilets. The swimming pool was heated and there is a flume for the children. The bar served delicious food and was very reasonably priced, every night there was some sort of entertainment. The camp is not too big and you get to know everyone, we felt like part of the family, we love it there.
