Camping Aux Rives du Lac/L'Epine aux Moines

Stayed for 2 nights as our first stop from channel. Site tired, ladies showers/toilets being refurbed so had to use men's. No toilet paper or soap. Showers push button and not very warm. Staff helpful. Great cycle greenway where you can cycle into Troyes with help of Komoot! Troyes is well worth a visit. Site across road from a lake and can imagine would be lovely in the summer. Nothing else around so felt quite remote.

we have used this site a number of times as a stopover. It’s only 4 hours from Dieppe or Calais and open all year. good size hard standing pitches some with pleasant views of farmland. Facilities modern and clean. No loo paper or soap but that’s quite normal in France. Good reception staff with bread and takeaway ordering. Beautiful lake across from site. Woodland paths to walk or cycle. Wine merchant van visits most evenings.

old toilet/shower block: worn out, needs refurbishing. 1 washing & 1 drying machine. washer - rubber had to be cleaned before use & needs replacing. clothes washing sinks ‘old & stained’ - needs replacing. site is good. lots of trees, but also mosquitoes when we stayed. maintenance ongoing, but didn’t affect our stay. lovely lake with a beach opposite the camp. very clean.

We stayed 3 nights 4oct 2023, not sure why MH gave such negative comments. Lady at reception was extremely helpful, she did have a pitch ready but said if we preferred another just to let her know which we, did no problem. Pitches are a good size with electric and water close by. Ok shower block is a bit dated but lovely hot water and decent sized shower cubicle. Would definitely use again especially at 17€ / night.

lovely campsite with a warm, friendly welcome from the reception staff. we only stayed 1 night but the location is wonderful, next to a huge lake with a popular restaurant on the shoreline. lots of walks and pretty villages to visit too. The facilities were basic but functional and looked like they were in the process of updating the sinks and showers. Good value and somewhere we would be happy to return to.
