Campsite Domaine de la Paille Basse, a country estate campsite in the Castels chain is situated on a forested ridge near Souillac (Lot). The first thing you notice is the beautiful view and the harmony with which the campsite has been integrated into the surrounding nature. The property is very green and well maintained with a number of colourful flower pots. The restored medieval farms now house the reception and a charming restaurant.

The pool and the terrace.
The toilets for camping could be updated. The pitches were sloping and uneven. We had to keep going back to reception because of the electric and water not working. It was very noisy at night.

Good community feel, very friendly staff, nice facilities.
Size of pitch space was not great for a large tent and car. Nothing gluten free in terms of food if you are coeliac, but think generally France is behind on that one.
