Periode of stay: June 2023

This was absolutely the worst campsite we have ever stayed at. Other comments re. cold shower water, wet floors in the toilets and unflushable toilets were correct. The worst part was that we used this as a last site before catching an early crossing to Dover, staying Thur, Fri and Sat. On Friday night the we were concerned to see a steady stream of cars coming in through the security barrier and parking near the bar. The loud drunken party continued until well past midnight. When the same thing started to happen on Saturday night with well over 50 cars coming in, I asked the manager what was going on. He replied that this was ‘animations’ and that these were his friends. He was clearly renting out the bar and restaurant to private parties. This one was obviously for a birthday party. It started at 7pm with a Saxophonist but then turned into a 4-hour disco before midnight and the Live Rock band until close on 2am, the bass notes shuddering through the ‘van walls. They deliberately turned the music up just gone midnight just to make sure anyone sleeping would be woken up. Needless to say, instead of being ready for our long journey home, we were dead on our feet.
