Camping right next to a castle: that is possible at campsite Château de Martragny. This castle campsite is located in the French department of Calvados, close to the Normandy beaches. A twenty kilometre drive takes you to the coast. The campsite itself is one big playground for children. They can run across the lawns and play everywhere. And of course, diving into the swimming pool is also a favourite activity of the younger campers. Those looking for peace and quiet will find space and freedom.

We chose this site, having stayed at other Castels sites in the past and have been very satisfied. The reception and welcome was great, lots of information about the region, well stocked shop.
Our pitch was incredibly tight. Not enough room for the caravan and car and small porch awning. Luckily our friendly Dutch neighbours allowed us to park on theirs. The site was really busy. There was no hot water in the showers in the morning, and pitches are incredibly cramped so there is a complete lack of privacy.

Staff was friendly and there was always fresh bread in the morning. There’s a large field for children to play. Restaurant was very good for a campsite!
The toilets and showers could have been cleaner, with a lot of children at the campsite it wasn’t cleaned enough. Shop only opened at 9am and there were always queues. Could have opened a bit earlier.
