Camping Le Vallon aux Merlettes

Camping Le Vallon aux Merlettes is situated less than a ten-minute walk from the attractive Breton town of Matignon. This is a very pleasant spot to stay in. Not only for the spaciously laid out and park-like terrain (even the pathways are of grass), but also because of the tranquillity and lovely atmosphere. A suitable location for nature lovers and young families. The facilities are basic, but effective. The reception houses a shop, a bar and an eatery.

We camped for 8 nights, on a grass pitch with electric (UK style connection). Lovely local french run campsite, Yhoann (Jean Travolta), Laurette & Lisa made us feel very welcome and were very engaging even though our french was woeful. Food & drinks at the snack bar were very good. Swimming pool great for young families. There is a great cycle path next to SuperU which takes you to St Cast -le-Guildo.

Perhaps be able to show in English (for English people)on the snack menu when food can be ordered and time it can be eaten/collected. IE order from 3pm to eat from 7.30pm. Also order bread items night before.

This is a very well maintained site with neatly cut hedges and flowers, and spotlessly clean facilities. It’s in a lovely area with many resorts close by to visit and some beautiful beaches. The small town of Matignon is within walkable distance. Unfortunately whilst we were there the local farmers were muck spreading , and we were infested with flies inside and outside the caravan, which was very uncomfortable . However I would recommend this site

Maybe install a chemical waste facility close to older toilet block, as it was quite a way to walk to the existing one

Great site, friendly owners, large private pitches, super clean facilities. Also a nice pool. Bakery products to order, easy walk into Matignon.
