Quiet campsite situated in a forest with many tall trees, only 1 km from the local shops. The campsite has a nice swimming pool, a tennis court with practice wall and a fine English owner. At the campsite you can stand on the 0 Meridian. Many bicycle and hiking opportunities in the immediate vicinity.

Just back from our first road trip to France, we stopped at Camping du Bois de St Hilaire for part of the trip and it was spot on. Set in a beautiful woodland, it’s got rustic charm and a really relaxed vibe. We stayed in one of the safari lodges which was spacious, super comfortable, and ideal for the setting. Our young lad absolutely loved it. Spent most of his time in the pool or out playing, making friends with other kids on the site (English and French). He was in his element. Plenty to do on site, the daily delivery of fresh local bread and pastries was a lovely touch, and the weekly wood-fired pizza night is a real highlight. The two owners were brilliant, laid-back, welcoming, and full of good chat and local knowledge. A solid base for day trips, we visited Parthenay, Futuroscope and Saumur which are well worth it. Plenty of memories made, we’ll definitely be back.

What a gorgeous campsite. Huge placements, lots of trees and privacy, and lots of natural growth to encourage local fauna. Lovely couple, great service. But… the plugs don’t fit in the sinks for doing the dishes!

One of the most pleasant sites we have visited in many years. A peaceful woodland setting with excellent pool, bar, free high speed WiFi and mine amiable English host is a great pizza chef! Highly recommended for 5 star.
