Campsite Kirchzarten is next to the village of Kirchzarten, to the south of the Black Forest. Although you camp close to the village, you feel like you are in the middle of the mountainous Dreisamtal countryside. The campsite is situated near the lovely city of Freiburg and the Europa-Park theme park and resort (Germany’s largest theme park) is close by.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my wife and 2 young children in August 2024 - the check in procedure was excellent, and the pitch was very good, with electricity and water on the pitch. The toilet facilities were excellent and very clean, probably the best I have used at a campsite. We were given free access to the outdoor swimming pool next door to the campsite, which the kids enjoyed. There is also a nice little shop which has a range of items, and a restaurant on site. The kids really enjoyed meeting Bobo and the rest of the entertainment team. They also enjoyed the playground, and enjoyed riding their bikes around the campsite.

Perfect campsite with our 2 young children, lots of activities nearby with a food on site. Probably the best toilet and shower facilities I have used at a campsite.

Camping Kirchzarten is absolutely faultless. It is spotlessly clean and you feel obliged to pick up an ice cream stick, the facilities are so tidy. The attached municipal pool is beautiful and the restaurant and staff are second to none. Furthermore the great city of Freiburg is only a free Konus card train away. Towards the end of our second week we had a major storm where large branches were snapping off the trees, completely ruining tents and awnings but the staff were out straight away to help and clear up.Our third visit but without the best site we've ever been on.
