Stayed at this campsite before travelling to F1 at Hungaroring this year.
We arrived with our motorhome the morning after a bad storm and a lot of the site was a bit flooded.
After struggling to get round the site we finally managed to squeeze into a spot! It seemed to be a bun fight to find a space big enough for a motorhome even though we had provisionally booked. The problems were that it is under the airport flight path and even worse is the goods railway that runs at the side of the site.
It’s really noisy . The staff are very helpfull with information about gettinging into Budapest centre, a bus to the metre station and then a tube to the centre.
The site was too full and toilet, showers not too clean.
Would not stop here again.
The site is in an urban situation it has a good choice of both shaded and partial shaded pitches. I is not in the city, to get to the city centre requires using the bus then the metro which is not so easy the first time you do it but once you have done it is enjoyable. The pitches are well worn in most of the site, EHUs are new and located on each pitch, The worst thing about the site is the noise from the railway and the Airport but it is quiet between 24.00 hrs and 07.00 hrs. We stayed for 7 days and our son flew in to join us for 4 days and stayed in one of the site rooms which was very good. We probably not stay here again because of the noisiness.
We stayed for a whole week - we were child-minding a 4 year-old for our daughter who was at a conference. It's some way out of the centre but, easy to find, and the centre was totally accessible by bus/metro which was all free for us due to our ages. The campsite setting is lovely and feels very much in the countryside on-site. Although pitches aren't exactly marked you can tell where they are and there is quite a bit of room. The toilets were completely adequate and well-maintained. Showers have curtains but are a decent size so it worked. Meal at nearby university was very good and inexpensive and cash-point very useful. It is only a very short distance to the supermarkets including Aldi and very little further to a retail park which included IKEA. Overall we very much recommend the site.
We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. It was an easy bus/tram ride to get into the centre of Pest. The toilets and showers were clean and never a line-up for them. There were plenty of facilities nearby including a supermarket, and the discounted meals at the university were such great value for money. Szolt, Klaudia and Eva were so friendly, their customer service can not be beaten :) Thanks for having us!!
We stayed four nights very friendly fly helpful staff excellent transport links to city. Heavy rain meant grass boggy but hard standing available. Train track nearby but quiet during night.
Excellent place. I agree with all the points on the other reviews. They rang taxis for us every day negotiating complicated arrangements with the drivers involving airport pick up and our dog making sure we got a fair price. Even didn't mind when we broke off a strip from the wooden bridge by leaving our steps out on the motorhome!
The best camping since mi family and me started our trip around the world by car. Really good area to relax, metro is near, supermarket.. Yo have all in the same place.
Great campsite for access to Budapest. Staff very friendly and helpful, providing loads of information about Budapest on arrival and even some useful information about Prague (which was one of our next destinations) when, we left.
When we stayed we had an issue that we mislaid one of the loading ramps for our trailer (on the the way to the site) and Csort at reception was brilliant advising where the nearest DIY place was where we could get materials to make a replacement.
Bus stop is just outside the site and there is a large Spar shop 10- 20 minutes away on foot.
Food at the University (CEU) is cheap and filling - they also have a bar / café which had decent free WiFi - better than that on the site.
Only negative about the site is that the railway runs along an embankment behind it and the trains are very noisy and seem to run most of the night.
The site also appears to be under the flight path for the airport.
Wonderful site, friendly helpful staff and easy to catch transport to Budapest town. Good and clean facilities. Great to find it open and all services active in winter.
