In the Italian province of Verona, you'll find the Bella Italia campsite, just outside the popular village of Peschiera del Garda. It's a 10 minute walk to the atmospheric centre along a lively shopping promenade. The southern part of Lake Garda is a lively place that's great fun for children, as there are lots of theme parks. But in the hinterland, there's also much to discover on a more cultural level, such as the towns of Bréscia and Verona and numerous traditional Italian villages.
Glamping or camping in the greenery
The spacious camping grounds slope slightly and there are camping pitches as well as lots of luxurious rental cottages. Well-equipped lodges lie next to each other on prettily landscaped streets. For campers with their own camping equipment there are also camping fields with a view of the deep blue water, mountains, and picturesque hills. It's a quick walk to a shower or a toilet. There are six comfortable and clean washing blocks, which are well maintained.
What really makes Bella Italia campsite stand out, is the luxuriously landscaped swimming paradise. With five swimming pools, there's plenty of choice for campers of all ages. The fun pool slides and the water playground were obviously designed with care. This is one of the most popular spots at the campsite, and of course it is well-supervised by a lifeguard.
Italian day trips
Whoever visits this part of Italy will become curious about the surrounding area. Close to the campsite, you'll find the historic town of Sirmione, which is an absolute must to visit. Right at the end of a small peninsula, you don't just have a fantastic view, but you're also right in the midst of the ruins of a Roman villa at the Grottoes of Catullus.

Great family site. We used when travelling through but stayed longer because of the weather and the great lakeside pitch we got.
Lots to do, the town is pretty and only 10/15 min walk along the lake. Beach is better turning left at the lake. The pools are busy but large. Good for stop off or longer but not the cheapest.
Brilliant campsite by the lake. Staff and services excellent. Some pitches were a bit tight but well marked out. One of our most favourite camp grounds. Pools amazing, lots of play grounds and a short cycle way into town.
This is a huge campsite and feels very much like a holiday camp - wrist bands and morning tannoy announcements included!
Positives - it is on the lake and a short walk to the beautiful town. Reasonably priced with the ACSI discount.
The reception staff were very helpful.
Negatives - There was often loud music quite late at night.
The toilets were often without toilet paper.
The water was often not hot enough.
As we were leaving, several hundred young people were arriving to use the accommodation for a football tournament which may have disturbed the peace and quiet!
A very large and busy site. We arrived with our caravan in what we thought was the low season and the site was full due to the Bavarian school holidays. However, we were given a spot on the edge of the football field until a pitch became vacant, although we had to ask every day. There was no system or list to help. We liked the site, particulary the swimming pools and access to the lake. Restaurants were good and reasonably priced and pitches are a decent size. Probably best to book if you really want to stay here.
Good for families not perhaps so good for people wanting quieter surroundings. This site is big & has all the facilities that large sites provide - e.g well stocked supermarket on site, restaurants etc. pitches are packed in tight though there is room for an awning. Busy, at times noisy but plenty to do & occupy all ages. 10 min gentle walk into the town for a range of shops & restaurants. Beautiful Lake Garda & beach accessed off the site
Having booked this site for 6 nights we ended up staying for 8. Very large site but didn't feel over crowded. Nice pools to choose from. Lovely restaurant/take away. The only thing that disappointed me was that the children's entertainment was a bit poor and the staff do not take responsibility of the child - it was a 'come and go as they please' facility.
Lovely campsite, beautifully maintained with great swimming pool and restaurants. Good location for exploring Lake Garda
This is a great camp, for me the only negative is the camping pitch they do like to pack them in! The facilities and restaurants are first class. The toilets were very clean and so was the site. The location sells it-self. I do feel they need more than one tennis court and some more table-tennis tables for the amount of people that are on site. Overall I don't think you will be disappointed.
This large camping village had over 5000 people on it even during June but yet the pitches did not feel too cramped. The lake is lovely of course with sun on its beach in the morning and evening so many take their swim and beach time before breakfast! Easy foot access to the local town. Supermarkets such as LIDL are not far away. We would have preferred the refuse collection to have taken place perhaps a little later that 0800 each morning though!
