As its name suggests, Camp Zagreb is an excellent base for people visiting Zagreb. It is an ideal transit campsite, but it is also highly suitable for longer stays. The campsite is located on a recreational lake in the village of Rakitje, directly to the west of the Croatian capital. The site is conveniently arranged in the shape of a roundabout, and has pitches for every type of camper.

They opened up a field next door for extra caravans. Staff and other customers then kept walking through our pitch (rather than round) because it was the shortest way to the toilet. There were only 3 ladies loos which meant a queue on occasions: There were 3 men’s loos plus 3 men’s urinals! Food in the restaurant was fine. No shop or bread onsite. Nearest supermarket less than 1/2 a mile. Train station to Zagreb about 30 mins walk but there is a free car parking at the station.
