Cp.platz Lübeck-Schönböcken

For some ten to fifteen years we have visited this campsite once or twice almost every year. Sometimes entering Germany, sometimes leaving. Over the years this has progressed to a well ordered, well run, friendly, if simple camping site. As we travel out of season, the toilet and shower facilities have been no problem. Kept clean, but when the site is full, there are perhaps too few. The site is simple, no restaurant, a store of sort, no sport, but a small playground for children. A red old-fashioned telephone booth is transformed to a leave and pick a book stall. We are always met with a smile, very helpful reception, clear and simple directions as to where we are to stay. There are parts of the site for motorhomes, and others for caravans. Part of the camping site is in a slope. This can be a problem with a long trailer. We usually phone a day or more in advance, and most time get one of our favourite lots. Shopping is easy - a few minutes to the gigantic CIttiPark, or the smaller REWE centre a few hundred metres after for a good, but not that enormous store for groceries. Easy access to Lübeck old city with bus or car. Use the GPS for a parking house, as there are very few street parking possibilities.
