Camping De 4 Elementen is a small campsite in the north of the Netherlands, on the border of Friesland and Groningen. Here you will camp directly on the water of the Prinses Margrietkanaal and you have access to a small harbour with moorings for boats. The campsite is part of a care institution that offers assisted living programmes. The residents of this care institution work in the campsite's shop and restaurant.

Camping pitch by the water

The campsite, which stretches across the rear part of the long peninsula, is particularly well looked after. Twenty-five narrow, but spacious touring pitches lie directly on the canal and offer beautiful views across the flat Frisian landscape. Paved roads take you to your camping spot, situated on a tight grass field in the shade of some trees.

For fishermen and people looking for peace and quiet

The campsite has good fishing spots where you can fish for hours on end. Due to its small size and remote location, the campsite is very suitable for campers looking for peace and quiet. In high and low season, the campsite is mainly occupied by senior citizens.

Your own boat

If you have your own boat, you can moor it at one of the jetties of the campsite. This way the campsite can serve as a short or long stopover during your boat trip through Friesland and Groningen. The Prinses Margrietkanaal starts at Lemmer, one of Friesland's most famous water sports centres, located directly on the IJsselmeer. At the border with Groningen, exactly where the campsite is located, the canal changes into the Van Starkenborghkanaal, which runs all the way to the provincial capital Groningen.

Liked - Die Freundlichkeit und der Erreichbarkeit der Rezeption
Disliked - Einige Platzgrößen für Wohnmobile/Wohnwagen sind unzureichend (in den Carrées die Eckplätze). Das hat dazu geführt, dass unser Platz, nachdem wir abends von einem Ausflug wiederkamen, zur Hälfte zugeparkt worden war. Glücklicherweise war die Rezeption erreichbar und hat uns einen anderen Platz zugewiesen. Trotzdem: das war nicht schön.

Wir waren jetzt 4 Wochen auf dem Campingplatz und das sagt eigentlich schon Alles.
Leider ist kein richtiger Ansprechpartner vor Ort der auch deutsch kann.Die Mitarbeiter sind immer fleißig und es ist alles sauber.Für Kinder ist leider gar nichts da,keine Sandkiste kein Bolzplatz,Schaukel oder Ähnliches.Ab 4 Uhr fängt der Hahn an zu krähen,aber wir standen ein ganzes Stück entfernt Zander haben wir auch geangelt.Also für uns ein super entspannter Urlaub.War das vierte Mal.3Mal mit dem Boot und jetzt mit dem Wohnwagen.

Liked - Wir haben den Campingplatz sehr spontan gebucht und fanden es super. Freundlicher Empfang, sauberer Platz, sehr schöner Campingplatz am Hafenkanal und Fluss. Abends wurde immer ein Lagerfeuer an gemacht. Sanitäranlagen sauber.
Mit dem Vispas können beide Seite beangelt werden.

Liked - Dank aan Sjoerd en zijn collega's voor een paar fijne dagen.
Disliked - Een paar suggesties: handen wassen na toilet en tandenpoetsen doen we liever niet in dezelfde wasbak. Afwassen doen we graag buiten, en liever niet naast het toilet.
