At Stadscamping Deventer you stay on a green small-scale camping site along the IJssel River. The grounds offer a view of the centuries-old Hanseatic town of Deventer. The camping site is fairly standard, but offers good facilities and spacious, well maintained pitches. Freedom and happiness prevail on this quiet site close to town. A small ferry next to the camping site will take you quickly across the IJssel to the historic centre of the town. In the vicinity of Deventer you can take lovely walking and cycling trips.
Choose your own pitch
You can choose your own pitch on the camping site, which stretches over its full length along the IJssel River. All pitches are well maintained and you can choose between pitches with shade or with more sun. The sanitary facilities behind the reception are somewhat dated, but well maintained and clean. At the back of the field you also find a lavatory truck to reduce the distance to the toilets for this section of the camping site.
Freedom and happiness
The camping site is popular with visitors who want to visit the town of Deventer and environs. The number of camper vans is relatively high. Pitches are almost always available and most of the time there is no need to book in advance. However, reservations are recommended during larger events, such as the book market (August) or the Dickens festival (December).
Sandy beaches and small ferry next to the camping site
Right next to the camping site is a lovely sandy beach on the IJssel River. Ideal for swimming. It is a unique site with a view of the historic centre of the town, dominated by the Grote Kerk. The ferry to the centre of Deventer departs next to the camping site.
