Stayed here for 6 weeks from January. Better prices for long stays. The only downside is that when it rains heavily there is no drainage on the site, the water runs down the road and will flood your pitch even when you have dug trenches around your pitch. This has been the case both times we have stayed here
If you are English you must walk and choose your pitch then return...if you are Portugese or Spanish you can have a drive around and come back later......No pitches marked, just areas. Some shade but all taken in August. They were quick to connect electric when we had found a space. Toilet blocks very dated but clean. No seats or paper. Live music till 12.30 am on Saturday night, then local gun club opens fire at 7am Sunday morning. Plus point is it is within walking distance of a beach and nice seaside town . Sadly beaches. Not dog friendly , but there is a bit of waste ground nearby to walk them by the river.
At the reception and near the bar was wifi. The campsite has an exit near the beach, which is in walking distance. The campsite had enough choice for a nice pitch (July). Near the beach-exit a nice coffee bar. We enjoyed this site.
Stayed here one night in January, showers and toilets absolutely freezing. Not because water cold, but because of the design of the building. There was a massive gap where the walls ended and the roof started, leaving at least a two foot gap open to the elements! Probably not a problem in the summer, but not good in the winter! Staff were very helpful and friendly. Beach and promenade an easy 20 minute walk. Pitches not clearly marked and not very well maintained, looked like there might be problems in wet weather.
Only stayed for 1 night, was enough, cold showers etc, dirty, in need of a good overhaul. However the girls on reception were very helpful, wifi free & the staff in the bar were lovely.
It was our 1st campsite in Portugal and we were very satisfied. Not so far from beach, town and supermarkets. Stuff was very friendly and price was good. Wifi was free. Walkin opportunities are very good.
We arrived here to stay one night and ended up staying ELEVEN WEEKS, yes eleven weeks. All the staff were fantastic. You can pitch where you like. Electric is in with the price and you will get a better rate the longer you stay. We had to return to the UK for a week leaving the motorhome on site and all we were charged for that week was 2 Euro 50 cents a day!
Ideally situated 15 mins from the beach and 10 mins from town. I can highly recommend this site. We will definitely be back.
Having stayed at this campsite numerous times in the bungalows we decided to come back when we got our own camper van. We had never used the toilet blocks before (the bungalows having their own facilities) but found them clean. the hot water in the shower only ran for 7 minutes but was adequate. It got a bit chilly with the walls not going up to the roof but that could be what stopped the toilets smelling. Pitches can be as big or compact as you prefer. There are three washing machines and one tumble drier on site. There is fresh bread everyday apart from Sunday. There is also free wifi. I would recommend this site whether using a camper a caravan or the bungalows.
Lovely town and of the two campsites this is by far the nearest to town. There is an entrance at the opposite end to the reception. The food at the restaurant was excellent but the service was so slow, and seemed to grind to a halt the second night. There was entertainment - singer with synth - who atracted a lot of his own supporters which made for a lively night. Price of drinks seemed to vary in the bar which was a shame.
We stayed here for one week, the pitches are good sized as you have as much as you need, the draw backs are when it rains the ground gets sticky and filthy, the sap from the trees (in April) marks every thing from your clothes to your awning top and is nearly impossible to remove. The toilets and shower blocks have open roofs, lovely in the summer, but in April really cold and windy, if you want a basic campsite at a cheap price and unlimited electricity, then this is good value for the money.
