Quinta das Cegonhas, estate of the storks. Serre de Estrela nature park. Terraced campsite with spacious, unmarked pitches. Easily accessible. Hospitable reception. Hikes, yoga, massage, wifi and swimming pool. Daily menus and small dishes offered.

The owner opened the ‘disabled’ toilets for the three units on site and they are immaculate, the best we have used in decades. The normal toilets and showers are in an outside block so we’re cold. There were also chilling out rooms with excellent views. There were no eating or drinking facilities other than bread available in the morning.There was a MSP but we didn’t need it. It was tight getting out with our 7.5m MH due to parked vehicles but otherwise a good stopover. It is ACSI inspected so no ACSI discount. We didn’t venture off site as the weather was terrible.

Beautiful campsite in the most gorgeous location. Plenty of information/advice on drives, walks and other activities to make the most of your stay. Totally unspoilt corner of Portugal worthy of a few days stay
