This site is half an hour walk from the town, more uphill on the way back. There are Supermarkets and a Chinese bazaar shop on the main roundabout. We came from the north and Satnav tried to take us through the small streets, however, go straight across the roundabout and stay on the cobbled road that leads through town. There are 3.5t restriction signs but in very small letters there are also signs saying Camping cars/auto caravans up to 7.5t. The site is rustic, pitches are gravel or what looked like grass, levellers needed and long power cables in some cases. There are no food facilities on the site and expensive bottled beers is available. ‘Social hour’ at 5pm but didn’t happen on our stay! Owner is very informative and an info pack is issued on arrival and returned when checking out. Ablution block is small but works, all toilet paper is put in a bin which is normal in a lot of places. No motorhome service point and we were advised not to drink the water by the owner so didn’t seek out a tap to fill up. Chemical waste disposal point is there but again no paper down it! Goid for an overnight or 2 night stay

This is a superb small campsite. We visit every year, sometimes four visits of at least 7 nights per year. It is in a rural location but only around 2 km from the nice little town of Campo Major. It is just inside Portugal a few km from Badajoz, well worth a visit. Not really a good spot for younger children who need to be entertained by playground equipment, (there are non).
