In the middle of the Montesinho nature reserve, one of the largest nature reserves in Portugal, lies campsite Cepo Verde. This terraced campsite has only forty touring pitches and some rental accommodation units, charming wooden chalets. There are no fixed pitches, but you can choose your own beautiful spot. Enjoy the swimming pool or wander through the mountains or old villages. The campsite has a good restaurant. If you are interested in souvenirs, you can head for the traditional wooden reception building. Here the largest pocket knife in the world is exhibited.

very nice campground in woodlands, trees for shade and sunny pitches to choose from. the guy from reception shows you around and his english is perfect. toiletfacilities very clean and well kept. lots of nationalities. be aware: no shop on campsite and nearest shops a drive away. so be selfsufficient. for dinner you have to make reservations early in the day for a certain time. did my very best to make the right reservation with added allergie concerns. that did not quite work out right. and then i nicely thanked the guy in spanish. oepsss that was not the way to go, so i got corrected in Portugese which is the only language i dont speak besides french, German, dutch, english and some spanish and some turkish. but hey thats only a minor detail. as for our food that we ordered for my friend with servere allergies. that was disapointing to say the least. we stick to selfsufficiency as food is concernd

We stayed at this campsite in September 2025 as part of our Portugal tour. The campsite is idyllically placed and the staff are very helpful. Would certainly revisit this fantastic site

Campsite in a national park. Nice walks nearby but you need a car to get to the start. Toilet block fine, clean with toilet paper and charging points for phone etc. It was though a little cool and the showers quite high which made the showers not very warm on the hotest settings. Restaurant with home made food and bead to order. Helpful staff with information available about the local area. Quite a few steps to get up and down to toilet block from some pitches.

This is a beautiful landscape and very peaceful. The local town is well worth visiting for a stroll around the streets and a walk around the fabulous citadel. The campsite has varied pitches from flat to rugged and uneven but all in a fabulous setting. Staff are welcoming. The little restaurant is a hidden gem! We went for a meal in a soggy wet evening when the fire was lit and creating a warm and welcoming environment. The food was the best the region had to offer. A must experience
