Village and Camping Alvao exudes the atmosphere of Roman times. The camping grounds and bungalows are surrounded by wooden poles (palisades) with watchtowers. All buildings have an exterior of rough stone, but are modern and comfortable on the inside. Opened in 2015. Lovely swimming pool and Roman playground equipment.

Friendly helpful staff. Swimming pool as too cold at the end of September and the restaurant was closed. Very clean toilets and showers and a hook for towels and shelf for shower gel etc. No hot water for washing hands etc hence I marked it down a little. Some pitches are quite small but out of main season there was plenty of space
