On a shady spot on the banks of the river Adour, in the French department of Landes, is the campsite Les Ombrages de l'Adour. Choose your own pitch on the flat campsite, which is partly shaded by trees. The campsite is suitable for longer stays, but because of its location it is also frequently used as a transit campsite.

For a 2 star camping in the very wet weather with river Adour high this was a great stopover. the manager was so pleasant and helpful. the water for showering was really lovely and hot. the little town just outside the site had a typical market of high qualified stuff. when the sun shone.

Very pleasant stay on this campsite alongside the l’Adour river. The site is a stones throw from the town which has cafes, restaurants and usual boulangeries, small supermarkets etc with larger ones on the edge of the town. Aire is in an area which is surrounded by other small towns which are typical bastide style with a central square, church etc. Aire itself has an old quarter with a covered market, mediaeval church and arena near the campsite. So there is plenty to see locally but take take time to enjoy the rolling countryside in this area famous for Armagnac. Menu formule can be had for 16-18E at lunchtime in many of these towns and the food is generally good and it’s presented nicely. The wine slips down all too easily. This campsite is very well run. The patron and his wife were on site and could not have been more helpful. He (sorry I never learned your name) spoke faultless English but also engaged with stumbling English speakers. The washrooms were spotlessly clean and kept that way each morning. The site is dog friendly and there’s access to the path along the river for walks as well as the area of this pleasant grassy site. If you like a quiet site with walking access to local amenities that is well run in a lovely area, this site is throughly recommended.
