Camping de Besançon - Chalezeule is situated in Besançon. This campsite with swimming pool is located along the river Doubs and is suitable for campers looking for quietude. The large lawn around the swimming pool is well suited for a variety of sports and games. Close to the campsite is a tram stop from where you can get to the town centre. When you travel eastward for an hour, you reach the Swiss border.

Far out of town, OK for a short stay. Saving grace was the cafe which was more than acceptable.

DO NOT TRY AND STAY HERE WITH A TWIN AXLE CARAVAN OR MOTORHOME. They do not accept the ACSI card for twin axle vehicles. They tried to charge me for one night but I managed to persuade them that their website only mentioned twin axle caravans and not motorhomes. I suspect that other twin axle users will not be so lucky in the future. even the they did not manage to charge the ACSI published price! It was a very unpleasant experience and we will not be returning to this site despite having stayed there before. Oh and the showers are only lukewarm plus the on site water taps are push button only so take ages to fill anything. If you are in a large vehicle also take care at the entrance as it is very tight.
