Camping de Montolieu is located on the edge of a wooded area in the South of France, fifteen kilometres from Carcassonne. This small, well-maintained campsite has recently been taken over by a young couple, who have largely renovated it. The well-organized campsite is quietly situated and has spacious, demarcated touring pitches with lots of privacy. The nearby town of Montolieu is known as the village of books.

Excellent location to Montolieu which is a very interesting village. Cycled into Carcassonne on the wine route which was beautiful and quiet until approx 5 km from the centre then very busy traffic. Great swimming pool next door but unfortunately closed when we were there August 30th? Toilets and showers were clean and spacious. Bar/snack area really nice and excellent value. Girls who run the site were fantastic, really friendly and helpful. Lovely touch being able to order fresh bread for breakfast.

We were greeted by friendly staff, who spoke fantastic English. They had taken over the site last year and I could see the positive changes they were making. Our pitch was private and spacious and close to all amenities. There was a bar and food served on site, which was a lovely added touch after a long day. There are barbecues and a play area for children. We were able to order bread and croissants for the next morning. Such a lovely site and they have a gorgeous Bernese Mountain Dog.

I loved the location. The site staff were so helpful and friendly. As a sole traveller, I felt safe and happy to be camping at this lovely site.
There wasn't anything I disliked. It was close enough to walk to all the amenenities and lovely town of Montolieu. What's to dislike?

Tyrza and Morgane go well out of their way to help in any way possible and speak excellent English. Site is clean and spacious. Swimming pool only a very short walk behind the campsite. Enjoyed a wine tasting at the site while we were there. Well situated to visit Carcassonne, the village of Montolieu is well worth a visit too. Soap the dog is also gorgeous!
