Camping Clair Matin is located in the low mountain range of the Isère, at the foot of the Alps. You'll camp here in a green mountain landscape near the spa town of Allevard. This old but well-kept campsite offers a friendly atmosphere and shaded touring pitches. The pitches on the terraces are spacious and sheltered. There is something to do for everyone. The swimming pool is ideal for water lovers. You’ll find thermal baths in Allevard.

We appreciated the friendliness of the staff, the large pitch size and the location in the Alp region.
Although the sanitary facilities were clean most of the time, we thought the toilets and showers were a bit outdated. Moreover, the facilities were lacking in some respects. For example, there was no toilet paper or soap for the toilets, and there was no possibility in the shower to place your soap or shampoo conveniently in the stall. Also, for the showers located on the outside, the water would not drain properly leaving us standing in a few centimeters of water even if we only showered for a short time.

Booking in was a slow process - around 30 minutes. Pitch definition was not clear. Sanitaire was rather muddled. No drinking water taps and water only seemed to be available from the washing taps in the Sanitaire. Requested a quiet pitch but were placed near the sports facilities which were hosting events until after 10pm. Allevard is a lovely town. Site is a short walk from a good little supermarket.
