Periode of stay: December 2022

We stayed just a few nights in December. The site staff were really friendly and helpful, and the site was spotlessly clean, tidy and well maintained. The loo and shower facilities are excellent and were constantly being cleaned by a lovely, smiley lady. There is a wheelchair friendly toilet and washing facilities, ramps and a pool hoist for anyone with mobility difficulties. It has a lovely, friendly feel to the site and this seemed to rub off on the campers, which was really nice. The site threw a wonderful Christmas party for all campers at the restaurant on 17th December. All food, beer and wine was free, and very plentiful. The staff worked amazingly hard and constantly topped up glasses and prepared food for everyone. The natural park of Cabo de Gata in which the site is situated is beautiful and semi wild; very peaceful. We spotted lots of rabbits and at least one huge herd of goats. There's a beach about 30 minutes walk from the site across moorland scrub. Its a great, safe place for dogs to run around. The only gripe we had is that the park is filled with litter in places, discarded building materials, plastic bottles, broken glass and bits of plastic from the ubiquitous poly tunnels that pervade this area (bringing multiple crops of tomatoes to the rest of the EU and the UK no doubt!) and that really do spoil the look of the place. We were surprised to see the poly tunnels even in the park itself. The site itself could not have been more welcoming and we will definitely visit again!
