The western part of Andalusia is not without reason a renowned holiday destination. The region has a wonderful climate and apart from the famous beaches, bustling coastal and harbour towns, there are some magnificent nature reserves along the coastline of the Atlantic Ocean (woodland and marshes). This is all within reach from camping site Giralda. The site is situated on the border of the National Park, 2 km from the picturesque harbour town of Isla Cristina.
Spacious pitches in the forest
The camping pitches on the Giralda camping site are not demarcated and have a woody surface. In high season you may have to stand fairly close together. In the wooded section the pitches are more spacious and provide more shade. The attractive sanitary facilities are cleaned several time a day. At the entrance you will find special units for the disabled (key available from the reception). You can rent recently renovated bungalows and rooms on the camping site.
Swimming pool with a view
The camping site has a beautiful swimming pool with view of the Rio Carreras, the river at the far end of the camping site. Near the pool you will find a sunbathing lawn and a restaurant with terrace. There is also a toddler pool. The beautiful sandy beach of the Atlantic Ocean is only a 5-minute walk away. You can reach this directly via a path from the camping site. Entertainment for children is available in high season.
Well-stocked camping site shop
In the reception building is a very well-stocked camping site shop. Fresh bread is also available. Furthermore, there is a snack bar and a self-service restaurant with large terrace, surrounded by lovely plants.

Gary M probably had it about right. We didn’t even get to see a pitch. Turned up on spec and with just one family in front of us at the desk the 20 minute wait to be seen was too much to bear.
They have a sewage smell problem in Isla Whatsever and this extends out to the site. It looked far too cramped (it’s out of season) for its own good and from what we saw motorhome doors opened out to next door’s open windows - the worst looking site we’ve seen so far in our month of touring.
Maybe we should have given it a chance, but just a couple of kms up the road there are plenty of spots to spend a night parked up al fresco with no smells, no cramped pitches and no dust from the traffic.
disappointed the proximity to the beach was over a main road. the site was dusty and many pitches toosoft for motorhomes. water points few and far between needed to carrry containers, chemical cassette emptying likewise. the roads to get there appalling, access to local commerce easy. however would not revisit. would not classify this as a cat1
A pleasant site, limited places to pitch where it was firm ground and a good walk to the facilities which were a bit old and tired. Free WiFi at reception but very good WiFi at your pitch if you're staying a few days and pay for it. There are a lot of permanent statics here but they weren't a problem and of course these are what keeps the campsite open all Year! Good cycle track both ways, one way into the town the other way to a very long promenade with coffee shops and restaurants. A small shop on site and a bar.
This is a huge site with limited amenities. No where you are located it's a long trek to the toilets, showers etc. there just was not enough facilities. No shop, no bar..except open on some week ends. Very dusty and sandy, cars driving through made it dirty. There is a comfortable flat ride into the town about two km. LIdl is a little closer, walking distance. The site had no atmosphere, nor did the town for that matter, and we would not return to this town or park. Certainly not tourist friendly
The book lists this site having food - it does not have food. The coffee vending machine was broken, Internet only in one place and it was awful! It was not a good experience.
