Gary M probably had it about right. We didn’t even get to see a pitch. Turned up on spec and with just one family in front of us at the desk the 20 minute wait to be seen was too much to bear.
They have a sewage smell problem in Isla Whatsever and this extends out to the site. It looked far too cramped (it’s out of season) for its own good and from what we saw motorhome doors opened out to next door’s open windows - the worst looking site we’ve seen so far in our month of touring.
Maybe we should have given it a chance, but just a couple of kms up the road there are plenty of spots to spend a night parked up al fresco with no smells, no cramped pitches and no dust from the traffic.
disappointed the proximity to the beach was over a main road. the site was dusty and many pitches toosoft for motorhomes. water points few and far between needed to carrry containers, chemical cassette emptying likewise. the roads to get there appalling, access to local commerce easy. however would not revisit. would not classify this as a cat1
A pleasant site, limited places to pitch where it was firm ground and a good walk to the facilities which were a bit old and tired. Free WiFi at reception but very good WiFi at your pitch if you\'re staying a few days and pay for it. There are a lot of permanent statics here but they weren\'t a problem and of course these are what keeps the campsite open all Year! Good cycle track both ways, one way into the town the other way to a very long promenade with coffee shops and restaurants. A small shop on site and a bar.
This is a huge site with limited amenities. No where you are located it\'s a long trek to the toilets, showers etc. there just was not enough facilities. No shop, no bar..except open on some week ends. Very dusty and sandy, cars driving through made it dirty. There is a comfortable flat ride into the town about two km. LIdl is a little closer, walking distance. The site had no atmosphere, nor did the town for that matter, and we would not return to this town or park. Certainly not tourist friendly
The book lists this site having food - it does not have food. The coffee vending machine was broken, Internet only in one place and it was awful! It was not a good experience.
Too many seemingly abandoned vans litter the site. And wiht so many perminant pictches is has a shanty town feel to the place. Showers dated and not very clean, we never used them. The actual town is not very nice.
The campsite was dominated by the long term holidaymakers who often had taken over more than one pitch, so it was difficult to find a pitch. The staff were very helpful even forwarding mail for me after I had left. Rather run down and the town needed a good clean up.undesirables living the other side of the security fence were a bit off putting
We visited this camp site in June. The site wasn't very fully functional until the end of June when Spanish holidays start. There was only limited food available in the bar, as the restaurant wasn't opened when we visited the site. Standard for Category 1 site; not as good as expected all seemed a little shabby.
