On arrival it looked a typical Spanish site, everyone on top of each other. Luckily we walked around first and found a huge pitch at the end of the site. Staff lovely, perfect English. Toilets and showers great. Maybe one negative, no water taps nearby. Lovely town easy access San Sebastián on train. Beach 2 minutes.
Brilliant site for our one night stopover on motorbikes on way to Piques de Europe, didn\'t have a pitch but as we did not take up much space the fantastic fluent English speaking lady on reception put us on a lush piece of grass that fitted us perfectly. Only problem was we forgot to pay when leaving as every where else we have let us pay up front, I emailed them and they said thanks for your honesty and sort it at the end of your holiday. Two minute\'s walk from fantastic beach with surf bar, absolutely fantastic and would not hesitate to recommend, also well stocked shop an
Lovely staff - my rusty Spanish soon returned. Facilities were spotlessly and great that bar, restaurant and shop open this early in the season. Would stay here again.
We were originally going to stay a week en route to south west France. We tried to reserve a space for the planned week but were told we couldn\'t book but had to just turn up in the hope that they had vacancies! Not ideal but we did as instructed. Thank goodness we hadn\'t booked a week. Quite honestly - although we concur with previous reviewers about the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the facilities etc., - it felt like we were staying on an Aire. We stayed one night only and moved on swiftly into France.
A very pleasant site, friendly efficient reception. Easy stroll into town with shops & cafes. A few steps to the beach. A good stopover for going south or for longer stays.
Excellent site, easily found off the main road. Good access to pitches. Staff very friendly, although their English is not so good. Good place to visit San Sebastián. Close to a beach and the lively small fishing town. We only stayed two night when travelling south, but would come back again.
This site has good, flat pitches and is very well located for walks to the beach, harbour and coast path. It is an easy, level walk into town and there is a regular and inexpensive bus and train service to San Sebastian and Bilbao. The site staff are especially helpful and the cleaning regime is exceptional. Although we don\'t personally use the site sanitary facilities (rather use our own) we had a good view of the long facilities block from our pitch and could see the cleaners working from one end to the other continually throughout the day. The only drawback is that some pitches are tricky to access for longer motorhome because of the awkward placing of the pitch marker posts.
Camping Orio is indeed within sight of the motorway but the noise is not intrusive. An easy walk in to the town or to the beach with a magnificent cliff walk. San Sebastián is easy to get to. The site is well maintained and the staff extremely helpful, from recommending a garage to a hairdresser!
A nice site, albeit a bit breezy at times. Friendly, helpful staff. Easy walk into town where there is a good supermarket. Easy access to local walks, including the Camino de Santiago (coastal route). Good local rail link (25 minutes) into San Sebastian. Pizzas from the local restaurant/bar ok in an emergency. Only down-side was the motorway flyover nearby which was could be a bit noisy.
The welcome here was fine and reception staff were friendly with good English. The site is at the mouth of the river and very close to the autoroute exit. You can actually see the autoroute from the pitches - it crosses the valley on a bridge - however the noise was not intrusive. Facilities were kept clean though as they seemed to be unheated the water was not my version of hot. The pitches (grass) were fine with water and electrics close. The town of Orio has plenty of small shops and the coast can be walked from the site easily. There is a railway trough Orio which serves Bilbao and San Sebastian so it would be a good place to use to visit anywhere along the line. The onsite food was not really impressive when we were there. We would go back there.
