In a gentle sloping landscape, some 4 km from the beautiful coastal resort of Comillas, lies the friendly family campsite El Helguero. You are camping here on an attractive terraced campsite with a friendly Spanish atmosphere. The demarcated pitches are located along a street. You can pitch your tent on the lawn. Apart from the 60 permanent pitches, there are 240 touring pitches on grounds measuring 6.5 ha. From the terraces you have a beautiful view of the mountains. There are 26 rental accommodation units on the campsite.

Decided to stay not too far from Santander as catching ferry in 3 days. Comillas is well worth a visit and we particularly enjoyed the Gaudi designed house. Had a serviced pitch with water and EHU which was nice and quiet. Toilet facilities and showers were excellent and really clean.
We stayed end of September and some of the pitches were a bit tired. Mainly from people putting down groundsheets and killing the grass. However, they were being re-seeded and should be great in the spring.

really nice site spoiled by grumpy and rude restaurant staff! fast and poor food, served or thrown at you! unless you were Spanish!
