Wij zijn op doorreis op deze camping geweest en tot onze verbazing was het hek rechts dicht en moesten wij met de caravan achteruit de drukke weg weer op om er omheen te rijden om links erin te rijden. Terwijl wij met onze manoeuvre bezig waren reed er een Engelse camper meteen links in. Deze mensen waren voor ons in de receptie en daardoor hoorden we al dat we niet links op de camping moesten gaan staan want daar stonden de gypsy's (Ierse zigeuners). Wij vonden een grote plaats waar we aangekoppeld konden blijven staan. Vijf minuten later gingen we op weg om de kathedraal te bekijken. Chartres is een prachtige plaats en we liepen door het stadspark langs de rivier, heel mooi! De eigenaar was heel vriendelijk en gaf ons een stadsplan mee die wij later weer terug gegeven hebben. We konden alleen wifi gebruiken in de receptie maar die staat vol met rook, dus voor ons geen optie.Toiletruimte was onder de maat! Vanwege de meldingen van inbraken komen wij hier niet meer terug!

De uitbaters zijn niet vriendelijk, het sanitair beneden alle peil, wc niet gekuist en onder water, meer betaald dan de acsipromotie, lawaai van buitenstaanders (jonge gasten) alleen om Chartres te bezoeken. Niet meer teugkomen.

We stopped at this site on 1st October for one night. The woman in the reception was rude, unhelpful she pointed to a site plan telling where I could not stop, I was to find out later why this was!! On finding a pitch I was told by a man (who was helpful) we could not stop there as stalls would be turning up at 06.00 on 2nd Oct!! He helped me find a pitch which was shared with a caravan with awning (not occupied). It was then that I found out why many pitches were not available. A car boot sale was to take place on the camp site which woke us at 06.00 with shouting and general noise. The sanitary facilities were not clean and therefore we used our own. To not tell me that this was happening when I checked in and paid was outrageous. By 06.45 the public were arriving into the site. Security was non existent as a result. Other campers were equally outraged. As a result we left at the first opportunity. This site needs a surprise inspection to see what really happens.

3 sterren... voor een camping zonder WIFI 80%, en slechts 3 erg verouderde zit-toiletten (1 bij de mannen en 2 bij de vrouwen) die dan nog constant onder water staan ook. 3 sterren???? Het sanitaire gebouw ziet er aan de buitenkant modern uit, maar is 18de eeuws qua gebruiksgemak. Nee... hier kom ik zeker niet meer terug!

A very busy campsite but perfect for overnight on way South or return trip to UK. It provides an excellent place to stop, walk into Chartres and soak up a fantastic French cathedral city and all it has to offer in culture, cafes and history. Any shortfall at the campsite is overshadowed by this pleasure. Perfect.
