Camping Sonnenberg can justifiably call itself one of the most beautifully located Alpine camping sites. From the camping site you have a magnificent view of the three thousand metre high surrounding mountain ranges. Mountains that invite you to make lovely walking tours or car trips. The Alpine towns of Bludenz en Nüziders are just a stone's throw away.
Friendliest camping site
At the reception the hospitable owners, Matthias and Beate, extend you a warm welcome and will assist, where possible, with setting up your tent or mobile home, or with any other practical matters. Not surprising that Sonnenberg has already received recognition as 'the friendliest camping site in Europe'. The terrain is laid out in terraces and is mostly car-free. The boundaries of the terraces are dotted with colourful wild flowers. You reach the clean and comfortable camping pitches via neat gravel pathways. There is also a separate section on the camping site where pets are allowed.
Diversity of guests
In high season the camping site is frequented by a variety of guests. There is a fun, sheltered play area for the youth and ample room to 'chill'. In low season it is mainly the more senior walkers and seekers of peace and quiet who visit here. The swimming pool in the village of Bludenz is freely accessible to camping guests. It has a water slide and a spacious sunbathing lawn.
You can order fresh bread for the next day on the camping site. Restaurants and shops are within walking distance in the village.
Beautiful sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities on camping site Sonnenberg leave nothing to be desired: they are kept immaculate and offer a wide range of convenient amenities such as an ironing boards and irons, tumble dryers and a drying room. There is also a dedicated corner for hair care and shaving.

This is a very nice campsite run by a family who are genuinely good at running a campsite and have thought through what their customers require. The laundrette is very good. The bathrooms are excellent, the best we have visited on this trip, wonderful. The site has spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. We would definitely go back and stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone considering staying. Thank you very much to the owners
This is a brilliant campsite with everything that you need. Friendly welcome with English speaking staff. Good flat pitches with lots of space and good views.
Excellent washroom block with sparkling toilets, showers and basins. Good washing machines and dryer, spacious washing up spaces.
On Friday night the owners played the Alpine horns and it was excellent.
Two kms walk from Bludenz and cablecar up to great hiking trails. Also good restaurant at the top of cablecar with brilliant views. WiFi good.
Lovely site with views of the surrounding mountains
Excellent Shower block
We were lucky to be staying there when we had an evening when the locals gave us a display of Austrian dancing
Only complaint would be is that reception is only open 1 hour am 1 hr evening
Very good campsite. Beautiful scenery from pitch. Owners very helpful. Quiet and peaceful, ideal for walking. We visited in September so there was no onsite entertainment except for the alpine horne playing on the night of our arrival. This site was everything we hoped it would be. Listen carefully to your sat.nav directions when in Nuziders. We ended up in a school playground.
Beautiful campsite, obviously a family business run by a lovely owner who has invested time and effort to ensure high standards in this exceptional campsite. The facilities were meticulously cleaned and the whole campsite was immaculate. This was by far the nicest site we stayed in on our trip. Great central point to tour the alps and the area itself offers so many different activities, walks, climbing lots for the kids to do, I would especially recommend the taboggan ride at Imst!
Very nice site friendly and very good toilets and showers, pot washing area excellent too. On a slope but not bad, nice walks around but steep in places, its all up hill or down but lovely. Sunday the owner and friends played the horns, as seen in the book, and it was amazing. Electric charges were implimented here so if its cold have lots of gas.
