They said we could get tickets for a bus at a machine 500m away instead of a more expensive ticket on bus. 1km later in 30degrees heat no ticket booth and locals said it would be more expensive anyway. My wife uses a walking stick so was very hot, tired & annoyed. Other guests also had same problem. Some ads claimed they have a free shuttle. Also they advertise 80-100% WiFi coverage but then told us it’s only at restaurant and reception. It’s better to arrive in the morning, park your camper in the car park for a fee til 6pm, and go and stay elsewhere for the night.

We had a very disappointing experience! Bad sanitary facilities, dirty and with cold showers. Electricity at he total end of the campsite, even with an extra cable inaccessible for us, so we could use the electricity. Very bad smells all the time, because of de location where mobile homes dump their chemical toilets. And when you complain, you'll be ignored. Location is awesome, but the camping is very overpriced!!! So if you go anyway, just make sure your campsite is far away from the chemical toilet dump at least, so you won't lose you appetite...

27-29 May we stayed here with our Caravan. We were first directed to a pitch which had been utterly mutilated by a Motorhome, but were directed to an alternative pitch with worked ok for us. The place is nice, reasonably quiet, and the staff is professional and nice. Facilities were clean and the water was nicely hot for bath etc. and a cheap bus from just outside the site brought us to and from the center of Ghent.

Unusual site, currently undergoing some major construction works. Pitches are grouped by unit type and are typically 10 units per group with most pitches screened with hedging. No atmosphere but perceived isolation might suit some. Our pitch was small at 75m2, had some traffic noise, was dirty with bags of rubbish we had to move. Facilities were good with lots of hot water Free Wi-Fi but signal poor. Great bread in mornings. Not much in the immediate area unless you wish to pay for sports facilities. There is a lake with beach. Nearest shop is 1.8km. Gent is about 4km and can be cycled or take free shuttle. Site only really works for a couple of days to see Gent. Cafe and pizza truck on site.

Now known as Urban Gardens Camping and open all year round. Perfect location for Ghent but also for getting the train to both Antwerp and Brussels which is what we did over New Year. Good free shuttle into city centre and Number 19 bus for train station. Some boggy pitches so take mats if staying in rainy season. Toilet block clean and hot showers. Small cafe on site and a pizza truck is also open (all months except December and January). Great location for sports with a large lake situated next door. Also great place for travelling with family/ friends who don\'t have their own accommodation as they have a large number of lodges that can be rented. Electric bikes available to hire on site.
