This huge site is difficult to access from the main highway and badly signed until almost there. It\'s a tortuous route round the harbour, found only with help from the SatNav. On arrival I wished I had not bothered!
The site was noisy and crowded. The lone young man on Reception had a long queue checking in and did nothing to speed the process up. ID was required for every single camper, most of whom had to return to their vehicles to fetch it. When I objected to leaving a passport at Reception, rather than the camping cards I offered, payment in advance was demanded.
There was loud noise (can\'t call it music) from the adjacent hotel bar, long into the night. I left the next morning, just glad to get away. No idea why the camp is called Solitudo as there was no peace.
Nothing special about the facilities. The free WiFi worked and that was the only positive feature.
The site is cashing in on being the nearest to Dubrovnik, which is a bus ride away.
This site needs to decide if it's a campsite or a concert venue! We booked for 2 weeks but when we arrived were told they were hosting a beer festival the coming Friday and Saturday so it was going to be noisy. They then handed us a letter of apology! The music went on both nights until 1.30 am and was very loud. We then discovered they were hosting a Biker Weekend the next Friday and Saturday and were again presented with another letter of apology. Two more nights of even louder (and frankly not very good) music until 1.30 a.m.! Not great for a site which claims it is quiet. No one mentioned either event until we arrived despite us exchanging a number of emails. Other than that site is fine - great access to the superb pool at the adjacent hotel; toilet facilities clean, but not refurbished despite the claim on their website (I queried this and was told they had levelled the floor so the water now drained away better!). Staff were fantastic too. Owners need to spend some money though as everything is looking tired.
To expensive. The pitches are not good. Showers not clean and with problems. Wifi was good. Not recomend. Bus connection and camping restaurant are good.
Yes it is a bit expensive (like everything else in Dubrovnik) but it is well run, near a very frequent bus to the old town, close to Copacabana Beach with good restaurant and bar AND you have use the large and excellent pool at the adjacent hotel. Dubrovnik is not to be missed (walk the walls first) so grit you teeth, pay the campsite fee and use the pool a lot.
Avoid like the plague...ridiculously overpriced terrible pitches on sharp rocks with little shade. Toilet block average at best. Out of hundreds of campsites we have stayed at this is one 9f the absolute worst, and for yhe same money you can rent an apartment in town. Do your self a favor and do not even consider going to this sweltering dump. No WiFi despite claiming otherwise.
To expensive and bad places for the tent. Very good toilets. This was the most expansive camp I have been.
