Very pretty campsite. Good access to Strasbourg by foot, bike, bus and tram. Very modern well equipped sanitary blocks. Also has short stay Motorhome parking. Very peaceful. Woodland walk to supermarket
An excellent site from which to visit Strasbourg. Easy access to the city by bus (the tram stop is a little further). Good clean toilets and washrooms. Fair size pitches. Rather more expensive than some but worth it for access to city. Helpful, friendly staff.
Handy location for visiting fascinating city of Strasbourg, good cycle/walking path only a mile or so to the centre. We were here late February so not much open on site. Decent pitch but a bit muddy after rain. Couldn’t find any bars or restaurants locally but plenty in the city. Would come again but only for a short stay to visit the city.
We never book sites but did on this occasion having read the reviews and it was worth it. Site was full.
An excellent site. The only problem was the Huttopia lack of water and grey water points.
Very close to the city - easy cycle ride or 2 km stroll. Lidl about 1 km.
We booked 2 nights at the Camping de Strasbourg mainly because of its location en route to Switzerland.
It has to be, without a doubt one of the shabbiest camping sites I have ever had the misfortune to stay at. The grass had not been cut for so long. Weeds were growing 3 feet high, pitches unkempt and very small. It is no good the management saying it\'s due to the weather because our pitch was dry when we arrived and weeds do not grow 3 feet in a few days. There is only one rubbish bin area which means there is a hike to get rid of rubbish and only 1 motorhome/grey/black waste area and fresh water at the entrance which you have to get a token from reception for!
Furthermore, there is a charge for a dog (paid locally) but no facilities for the dog. No dog exercise area on site, no dog poo bins, no dog shower so why the charge (just a money making exersise).
The plus is that it is close to the city. It is a gentle 25 minute stroll to Petite France (note dogs are NOT permitted on buses or trams unless they are guide dogs or the dog is small enough to fit into a bag). There is a small heated swimming pool but sadly no staff are enforcing the rules and some visitors think it acceptable to do dangerous practices when there are young children in the pool.
Unless they make significant changes I would not return.
Spent 1 night at campsite.
Be warned I had a large sum of cash stolen from my car when I arrived, security is poor.
Nice staff though and would recommend campsite.
The campsite was unfortunately badly advertised. The security was poor, in fact did not exist and as a consequence I had an expensive bike stolen from my pitch. Lost forever. The pool was extremely busy and with water that didn\'t appear to be too clean. The staff rating reflects their interaction and concern over the theft. ACSI should aware of differing views of campsites when constructing their reviews.
The campsite has a very poor security policy. We had a bicycle stolen from our pitch whilst we slept. The \'manager\' of the site couldn\'t care less and just suggested we should report this to the police. This after there had been a high incidence of thefts on the site. ACSI should reconsider their support of this site.
Toilet and washing facilities are disproportionate to the numbers of campers.
Site is a combination of good and bad and it’s all down to luck what experience you’ll get.
Conveniently located close to Strasbourg, either take the tram or level walk in 30 minutes.
Modern and clean sanitary/washing facilities.
Reasonable sized pitches some offering shade and privacy.
Swimming pool and good facilities for kids.
Well maintained site.
Complete lack of drinking water taps.
Quite a distance to bins or chemical toilet depending on where you are located.
Lots of bungalows on the site and they are rented to large groups of teenagers some of whom can be very noisy.
Needs some security - anybody can wander in at night. There was a theft from a car and attempted cycle theft all within the 48hours I was there.
A better standard of site than usual but don't believe the marketing. Pitches are grass, uneven and rutted. Planting between pitches is limited and neglected. Narrow access for larger units. There are no water taps on any pitches. Motorhomers have to exit the site to use the service point and a meeting is required. Despite the foregoing, the site is well laid out and the sanitary facilities are very good. Bus stop outside site and boulangerie. Staff helpful.
