In Central France, in the western part of the picturesque hilly Burgundy winelands, lies Camping Merry-sur-Yonne. The idyllic Yonne river flows near the camping site, as does the Nivernais Canal. The camping site is an oasis of tranquillity in a beautiful region with vineyards, castles and attractive villages.
As soon as you arrive, you will notice the beautiful layout with rows of trees, as well as the lovely view. The pitches are spacious and diverse. The most beautiful pitches are located on the perimeter and offer magnificent views. The surface is mainly grassy. There are also ten pitches with a hardened surface. Like to take things easy? Book a B&B or rent a pod (a type of tent-like wooden cabin).
Tennis, canoeing and cycling
On the camping site, there are numerous facilities for you to enjoy: a sports field, a game hall, a playground for the little ones and a large outdoor chess game. Next to the camping site, you will find some tennis courts. There is also plenty to do in the immediate vicinity. In Merry-sur-Yonne you can climb a rock formation, the so-called ‘Rochers du Saussois’. You can also go canoeing and fishing here. You can get to the river from the picnic spot near the entrance.
The reception, shop and restaurant are located in the large, old building at the entrance of the camping site. It also has a bar and a terrace. The restaurant is tastefully and creatively decorated. The shop has a limited selection.
Comfortable sanitary facilities
The sanitary facilities consist of luxury bathrooms with a toilet, a shower and a washbasin. The facilities were fully renovated and comfortably equipped in 2016.

Small. friendly, quiet campsite. Excellent showers. electricity hook-ups need attention. Good location, easy to get to cycle trails.
This is a wonderful, friendly & peaceful site. The bar is open all day (we enjoyed a coffee every morning in the relaxing atmosphere!) and the fabulous restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Really great food - deserves a Michelin star!
This is a fabulous campsite in a lovely location. The owners and staff are all very friendly. Bar and restaurant very good and the food is amazing! Relaxing in the bar with a coffee every morning became our routine in the five days we stayed. I’d definitely recommend it to all our motorhomeing and caravanning friends and we’ll be back!
Definitely we’ll come again, we’ll pop in on our way down to Spain In January. Not many campsites open then! Very friendly staff, great facilities, nice bar for a drink or relaxing over morning coffee, wonderful location - magic! Lovely food in the restaurant. We think it deserves a Michelin star. Just so relaxing. Come and see for yourselves.
A relaxed very pleasant site near a lovely river that is ideal for canoeing. Do not use the sat nav for directions but use the book. The village is very small and the roads windy. Good restaurant. Great stay.
This site is just lovely. Well laid out, clean and tidy. The small shop has essentials and the bar/restaurant are to die for. The food is Michelin level; at great prices.
The are has some wonderful walks and many kilometers of cycleways. The climb to the top of the cliffs has to be done to look over the valley floor. Just a short distance from the site is a kids play area by the river. As you would expect from rural France, it is clean and tidy.
All in all a great site, lovely owners and plenty to do for the people who love the great outdoors.
