Beautiful views of the castle a lovely site. The toilet and washing facilities have just been re built and are very good. Staff were friendly and helpful and site is close to town. We didn’t see any play areas for children or any sports areas but it is not that sort of site.. Would definitely recommend for couples
Great site, improvements to shower and toilets were happening during our stay but didn’t spoil our enjoyment
We agree with other positive comments here - a pleasant & popular site within abt 2 hours drive of the ferry. It’s a few minutes walk to the pleasant town & up to the former Tannery/Chateaux that overlooks the site. Many of the pitches are on the small side, beware the raised kerbs.
The sanitary facilities are good & clean although limited in number & the ‘Turks’ in the Gents must be seen as one of those experiences of travel! Free wi-fi in TV room; Monsieur on reception was friendly & helpful & spoke good English. Payment by card ok (see earlier review) We would happily use again.
Only stopped for one night en route for Spain so facilities used were limited.
Perfect start to our holiday in France. Central to town and great view of the castle. Separate sanitary facilities with paper provided. Lovely views. Would stay here again.
A well located site, very close to the town but in a quiet place at the foot of the chateau. The lower pitches are well laid out with hedges as separators. The higher ones are more crowded. The facilities are dated and insufficient.
I called the site as I wanted to make sure that we would have a pitch on our first night in France. Whoever answered said to book online. I pointed out that I wanted the ACSI rate and just wanted to ask about a free pitch and was told that was OK but to book anyway. When we arrived I was told that as I booked I could not have the ACSI rate and MUST pay the full rate, or loose the deposit! All in all, I will not return.
The toilet facilities for gents are not good enough. There is only one "sit-down" toilet - the other two are the "hole-in-the-ground" ones which should have been phased out years ago.
Municipal site in the small town of Falaise. Near to the castle and town centre (10 min walk). Toilets and showers basic but ok. We found it a good stop for a couple of nights to visit the castle and look around the town. Only cash accepted at reception (no cards).
A super site to stay over for a few days, sitting below the magnificent castle and birthplace of William the Conqueror ~ and just a very short walk into the historic town of Falaise where there are many shops, bars and great restaurants. Very friendly and helpful camp wardens despite the site being very busy with visitors for a weekend of mediaeval festivities in the castle grounds. Toilets, showers and other sanitary facilities all very good. Very highly recommended!
We loved it here, it was a perfect motorhome stop, the site was clean and tidy, the facilities were a little dated but were adequate and spotlessly clean at all times and the warden was helpful and friendly.
The site is well placed, being only a ten minute walk into the town past a picturesque lake. The town of Falaise is a nice place with plenty to see and do, the Chateau is definitely worth a visit, as is the war museum and the local churches.
This site is definitely one we will be visiting again as its a perfect stop off to and from the port at Ouistreham
