We received a very friendly welcome. Toilets and showers are excellent. Shop is adequate for essentials. All pitches are grass. Lovely setting and good access to Bayeux.

Very nice site facilities at the Chateau are very good clean and modern. The others around the site less so, and you would be advised not to use them in low season, (unheated and open to the elements and insects). As said before its a shame the season isn\\\'t longer.

What can I say? Possibly the best site we have ever been to in France, it is beautiful. We were given a very large pitch and so did not need to unhitch as we were there fro one night only. The sanitary facilities are the best we have ever seen. The one disappointment is that this site closes early in the season - what a pity. Next year we will be passing by en route for Cherbourg in October and would love to stop but it will be closed.

Fantastic setting. Staff extremely helpful & friendly. Sanitary facilities reasonable. We stayed a few days & would definitely do so again when in the region.

This is a large busy site 20 minutes from Bayeux and 30 minutes from Caen. It is obviously very handy for visiting the landing beaches and is therefore very popular with the English during our stay in early June it was occupied nearly entirely by English and Dutch. At this time a new toilet block was almost completed as before this the toilet facilities had let the site down. Set off the road at the top of an impressive drive with plenty of hot water for dishes etc this was a pleasant 3 night stop.

Surprisingly busy for the time of year, but did not have any problems with the toilets which were always very clean or the cockerill which maybe had become a dinner in the bar. Staff were always very helpful. Lovely convenient position for Bayeux and the D Day beaches.

Wow what a site. Pleasant, helpful staff. Spotless toilets cleaned by professionals twice a day. New toilets/showers being installed during our visit which will be superb when finished. Also a bonus toilet seats and toilet paper!!. Huge pitches, free wifi, lovely little shop with bread/milk etc available daily. Lots to do in surrounding area this site is a good base with easy access to D Day beaches, memorials etc., Was sad to leave. Will be back and have already mentioned this camp site to several people already.

We inspected this site but did not stay. Sanitaires were in complete chaos whilst being re-built - may be they will be OK when finished? All notices were hand written giving an amateur feel to the place. Would question the 4 star status.

My husband and I have just stayed here for a week. We came up from Brittany to look around the D-Day beaches and memorials. The campsite is beautiful - centred around a charming 18th century chateau and within easy reach of the beaches and the Bayeux tapestry. The staff were helpful and the washrooms and toilets were spotless (we saw a professional cleaning team at work at least twice a day!). Unlike the previous reviewer we were not disturbed by any "early morning" cockerel. Perhaps we were far enough away from him or maybe the owners have taken note and removed the little beast! Would definitely recommend this site to anyone looking for a bit of charm and tranquility whilst researching the D-Day area.

Travelling party: Family with children, 4 – 12 years

Do not come to this campsite unless you are prepared to have your holiday spoiled by the cockerels, which are allowed to freely roam around the site 'cock-a-doodle-dooing' waking you up every morning between 4am and 5am! They are very loud and extremely annoying.

Also, the toilet and shower blocks are very basic. There are no sinks and soap within the WC block. If you go for a shower, you will have hardly any room to change and move around.

On a positive note, the site is within a reasonable driving distance of Bayeux, Caen and the surrounding D-Day tourist attractions. The staff are friendly enough, the restaurant is ok and there is free WiFi. The kids have a basic playground, a swimming pool and a tennis court, although 5 Euros per hour for tennis is quite expensive.

Despite the few positive aspects, the cockerels really spoil the site, so for that reason I will definitely not be coming back and would urge caution for those considering coming to the site. That's quite a shame real
