Didn\'t expect to like this site but we did. Friendly and helpful staff. Although it\'s a huge site it didn\'t feel it because of the clever layout, trees and shrubs. Spacious pitches, good shower facilities, excellent bar and restaurant. Short walk to the town and sea front - 500 metres.
Worst site on our month long tour of the area. Firstly we had to pay up front for three days and were told that if we only stayed one or two nights we would be refunded. The site was not for us. Decided to stay only two nights. Went to reception and gave them notice, and they refused to refund us, saying it was company policy. By the way it was the same person on reception... At least Dick Turpin wore a mask. The site had a cheesy kids club, and then bingo for the brits ! The on site shop was very expensive. The pitches were unkempt with overgrown trees giving an oppressive feel. They say 500m to the beach. If you are a dog owner double it as you are not allowed through the park. The info says no dogs on beaches but both ends of the beach allowed dogs. Horrible place, smacked of being hard up for cash. On a plus they have a great pool area
Easy walk to a lovely town and beach. Excellent base for touring the invasion beaches. Lots of cabins on the site however most are separated from the touring pitches. Trees were overgrown at the time of our stay making maneuvering with a caravan difficult (managed scrape the top of our caravan causing minor damage). This is the only site we have stayed on where you have to pay in advance with no refunds given if you leave early. Some noise from the disco but this usually stopped by 10:30 pm. Pitches could be boggy when wet.
Lovely clean, well maintained campsite. The shop was well stocked and the restaurant provided nice meals. Limited activities on site due to outdoor pool not being open until High season. We were there at the end of May.
For the seafront and interesting shops, it was ok for us who went running to explore but it was quite a walk for my parents and, they are fit and healthy.
This site is perfectly placed for the D-day beaches and surrounded by history, this being the reason for our visit. The site itself is well looked after although the emphasis is on rented accommodation, the staff are friendly and helpful, the toilet block's are very spacious and kept clean but are now in need of some maintenance as a lot of the lights are not working and some of the door locks are faulty. The music at the bar is turned up quite loud but does end at a sensible time, don't expect peaceful evenings or you will be disappointed. Not really our sort of site but ideally placed for our need's at the time.
