Once again a very friendly welcome and enjoyable stay at this lovely campsite. Close to town centre, beaches, the port and the marina. Owners were very helpful when we had a minor electrical problem with our van.
A spotlessly clean campsite with well laid out pitches and excellent tpoilet and shower facilities. Only minutes walk from the centre of the lovely coastal town of St Vaast, and the FR223 coastal footpath passes the campsite. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Convenient for Cherbourg and surrounding area.
The staff on this site were very friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The weather was quite windy during our stay and we were advised where to go to avoid the wind and pitch suggestions also made as to where would be more sheltered. There were plenty of places to visit close by, it was a lovely walk around the castle. It was handy for walking into the town where there were some lovely places to eat and drink. The bread was to be recommended in a morning, still warm when I collected it! Plenty of hot water in the showers which were quite spacious compared to some we had visited. All the facilities were kept very clean and tidy, the one negative comment I have is it took some time to find the trash bins which were hidden around the back of the toilet blocks. There was good cycling from the site and the port was very picturesque.
To be recommended.
Lovely couple in reception. Very busy but there was a choice of pitches for a small unit such as ours. All are separated by hedges. Sanitations are in very good condition but one block a little open and draughty. Traditional block more popular yet always with places available. All facilities very good, grounds well maintained. Couple of nice condition 2CVs available for hire. Location ideal, close to interesting fishing port and town. Be sure to explore fully the Maison Gosselin. Restaurants, beaches, fort, marina, boat trips - all within comfortable walking distance of the site.
This was our fourth stay at La Gallouette and it will not be our last. The site is flat and the pitches are large. This is important for us because we have a very large tent and a big car.
The WCs, showers and other facilities are cleaned four times a day and are spotless, even during bad weather (always a possibility in Normandy!). There is a good pool and an excellent play area for children. The café provides simple meals at a good price and bread and pastries are delivered every day – if ordered the day before.
The site is a short walk from town, which has some good restaurants and bars.
Very nice site, level pitchs. Toilet and showers facilities very clean. Within easy walking distance of the village and harbour with nice restaurants. Lovely walks to vie Tahiti island and the fort. Very convienent for anyone travelling to/from Cherbourg. We'll stay here again.
