The quiet campsite of Les Etangs du Moulin in the hilly Northern French region of Aisne is designed in the style of the Wild West with saloons, log cabins, covered wagons and tepee tents. Even the local population joins in for a meal in cowboy style. Anglers can fish to their heart's content in three fish ponds.

Covered wagons and tepee tents

The open terrain is situated among agricultural fields. The spacious and beautifully laid-out pitches with ample privacy are situated adjacent to the fish ponds or on the perimeter with a beautiful rural view. The tents look out on the covered wagons which can be rented. There are hardened areas for campers and caravans. In addition to covered wagons, log cabins and tepee tens can also be rented.

Western style

The heated indoor swimming pool with toddler pool and waterfall is also situated in a Western style wooden building with lovely wood beamed ceilings. Loungers can be found outside. The swimming pool closes at 18:00.

Fish ponds

There are several fish ponds where camping guest are allowed to fish. Equipment can be rented. There are two ponds with trout and two carp ponds. The campsite has a playground, a sports field and trampolines for children. Mountain bikes and go-carts can be rented and cycling routes are available.

Lively bar

Of course, you also want to step inside the saloon for a beer. The lively bar with fine Belgian beers as well as the cosy restaurant with limited menu is entirely in the style of the Wild West. Locals join in style and dress up as cowboys when eating at the campsite. This is however not compulsory for camping guests.

"A spacious, quiet campsite in Wild West style near Laon. There are demarcated and open pitches that differ in size. Good play facilities for young and older children. Beautiful fishing possibilities on the campsite. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained. Rental of cottages, tipi's and covered wagons."

Liked - Fantastic site for our last stay before Calais. Large flat pitches lovely facilities clean warm showers with the best pressure ever . The cowboy theme is amazing and the pool looked fantastic just wish we were there longer, good excuse to return soon

Liked - Easy to check in. Friendly staff and ample space for a tent with a motorbike parked next to it.
Nice bar on site too.

Liked - We booked two nights to break up our journey from south to north and ended up booking an extra night. Facilities were spotless and all the staff were really friendly. Check in was easy. Our pitch was secluded and quiet (Bezbee). Shower block was clean and showers were good. We are in the restaurant- food was amazing and reasonably priced.
Disliked - Shower temperature- it’s a shame it wasn’t adjustable.

Liked - Restaurant made the holiday easy and it was well priced and great food. Staff friendly. Great theme to the camping site

Liked - We stayed one night at Les Étangs du Moulin and were really impressed. The site is beautifully maintained, very clean, and the pitches are very generous. It’s also a lovely place to walk around, with a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere. The bar was great for an evening drink, and although we didn’t try the restaurant as we visited Laon (just 20 minutes away), everything else made for a really enjoyable stop. We’d happily recommend it and would love to return for a longer stay.
