Arrived midday on Sunday. We pitched up, and owner came a few hours later. Very friendly owner. Children on site trotting with the ponies, albeit around the campsite and the motorhomes. Good children play area. Toilets average. Couldn't access the wifi, network was not there. As we arrived a Sunday the village was quiet, pretty and clean. Very good Italian Restaurant. Has a lot of potential.
Near the fabulous Chantilly, this campsite is ideal for a first (or last) stop after coming off the ferry. Even though we arrived late and reception was closed, someone soon arrived and made us very welcome.
We stayed for one night on our way to Calais at the end of October after a 5 month tour of Europe in our motorhome. And this Campsite was just what we needed great sanitation the best in France hot showers with great pressure clean and warm. A great reception as warm as the showers worth a detour if your near. We will use it again in the future as it is just off the A16 very handy.
One Night stopover returning to UK in March 2015. Very friendly, attentive english speaking hosts. Probably the best hot showers of the whole trip to Spain and through France. Off season, and winter so very quiet with early morning activity of people heading off to work. Happily return another time.
We stayed here in a very cold December 2014. Nice pitch with water on tap and gravel under grass to make sure we could get off ok!
The staff were very friendly and accomodating and came out to meet us as we arrived. Found the owners very easy going and friendly. Service block was super-heated with boiling hot showers 24hrs and cleaned spotlessly daily.
As it was Winter can't comment on the Summer facilities but reading the information posters around the reception area I would think it is very well organised in Summer for families etc.
Lovely bistro in village La Castello (I think!!) On the corner next to florists great meal with wine & coffee for 2.
Would definitely reccommend this site for overnighting en route to Spain and back as just far enough from Calais for a leisurely drive and if in no rush, an extra night and a visit Beauvais just 7km away is weĺl worth seeing
I visited twice during January, once during the snow. Very warm welcome by the owners and very good spoken English. Mixed, multi-level site with resident/park homes and caravans/motorhomes. Great for children with the little ponies (even in January snow!!!). Pitches not overly large but facilities are being improved with the toilet block/showers and wash up sinks. Great play area for children. Work was still going on in January to improve ready for the summer season. Wifi seems to be best up around reception and maybe not at the lower levels. All in all will visit again as location for Paris/going south is fine.
Had a nice stay here on our way to Spain. We were made welcome as soon as we drove through the gate. We had a choice of sites handy to the toilet/shower block. The showers were great and all kept nice and clean. We will be back in Feb/Mar 2013. Thankyou!
Arrived late one evening in the dark and the site owner showed us to our pitch. Very good. Most of the pitches looked large and I can also confirm that the new toilet blocks are excellent. There was some work going on to expand the existing toilet block. Overall an excellent site.
Since the current owners took over this site, some progress has been made to improve it. Some of the older static caravans have now been removed, some still remain. In their place have been placed some 'cottage' type mobiles.
They look good, but wrong impression is given when you arrive in late afternoon on a Sunday to see the occupants of the mobiles all sitting out around reception using the wifi, as well as some being well and truly intoxicated. It would appear that there are a large number of semi-permanent and permanent residents on site, including workers and their families. The impression this gives is not good and the owners would be well advised to clean the site of them.
In their general improvements to the site, it can be seen that some pitches have been made considerably smaller than they used to be - tree stumps and roots are still visible from old positions. Electric points require some work, more water points required, roadway needs work. Keep trying. Over 50% static.
Had a one night stopover on way home. Owner very friendly and helpful and it is evident that they are continuously making improvements like the new toilet facilities which are kept clean and tidy. There's a very good and reasonably priced Italian restaurant in the town which is a few minutes walk away. Will use again when and if passing.
