If you love fresh mussels and oysters, you've come to the right place at Camping Au Port-Punay. And you'll easily find the necessary relaxation on the beach (only 200 metres away), in the charming villages on the Atlantic coast and the large camping site swimming pool with comfortable loungers. The camping site is located between the city of La Rochelle and near the charming fishing village of Les Boucheleurs. The village is known for its oysters and mussels. This is reflected on the menus of most of the restaurants in this area.
Up in the air
Camping Au Port-Punay has put up inventive lodge tents on the camping site. These tents are on stilts of 1.20 metres high, and you access them via stairs. Inside you'll find all you need for a relaxed, comfortable holiday.
Camping Au Port-Punay naturally also welcomes campers who bring their own equipment. There is also a camper service station where you can refresh your water. You will get a free token for this service point for each stay.
Plenty of cooling down
Because the beach is only 200 metres away, you can easily reach the beach for a refreshing dip, to build a sand castle or play a great round of beach volleyball. The water on the Atlantic coast can be a bit cold, especially at the beginning and end of the summer. The camping site swimming pool can remedy that. There is a separate section for the little campers and plenty of space around the pool to enjoy the warm summer sun.

Detail information about this campsite
"Pleasant family campsite with predominantly still real camping plots, partly under high trees on 150 m from the sea. Perfect sanitary facilities and spacious plots. Charming little fishing village, very suitable as a starting point for a visit to the islands of Ré and Aix. Located between the historic and tourist towns of La Rochelle and Rochefort. Châtelaillon and its surroundings are very good to explore by bike."

This is one of our \"must visit\" sites when we take our annual holiday in France, which is usually in excess of 7 weeks. The site is always clean and well maintained. There are lots of interesting places to visit in the locality and we have recommended it to a number of friends as a site well worth staying on.
Excellent campsite in a lovely area. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely walk into Chatelaillon from site. Best to book even in low season as it was full a couple of the nights we stayed here. Would definitely come back if in the area.
We stayed here from18th August-26th.didn\'t intend to stay so long but the site staff and surroundings are brilliant. Shower block second to none. The owner spoke about 3 or 4 different languages and went out of her way to help us. Great festival in local town on our last weekend. Will definitely be returning.
Great campsite. Flat and immaculate with lots of clean facilities. Great rides along the coast that are all flat. Bus stop for La Rochelle just outside campsite. Staff absolutely fab.
This site is very well run Staff are all brilliant and friendly The area is lovely seafood available everywhere Pitches are a good size and well maintained
Stayed here for 6 nights in june and it has got to have one of the friendliest welcomes ever, friendly and helpful, although very busy we were offered a choice of pitches both in and out of shade. facilities were very good with shower block and toilets clean and airy. Lovely area with a nice walk along beach into Chatalaillon Plage with it bi weekly market numerous shops and great seafront walk and restaurants.
If you want to explore further afield there are numerous towns and villages within easy reach including La Rochelle which is well worth a visit. To sum up Great Site, Lovely people and in a nice area.
We stayed here for 3 nights, and even though the weather wasn't good, we really enjoyed this site. The staff were very friendly, and it is very convenient to the town, with a lovely walk along by the coast and beach. There is a very nice pool in the site, and the toilet and shower facilities are excellent and very well maintained.
Camping tranquilo con parcelas amplias. Duchas comunes que los cierran por la noche, los WC están al aire libre.
Stayed for a week on way back from Spain. Pitches were ok apart from when it rained very hard we were under water. Nice shop and very nice staff. The owners let us use there workshop to repair a Dutch mans caravan. We would recommend this nice site
We spent 6 nights here and it's odd - whilst I have stayed in places with better pitches or with better facilities, there is a certain ambience to this place that made us feel totally relaxed, despite the torrential rain we had one day. The reception staff were helpful, friendly and all spoke English. Pitches are large but on a sandy/scrub base which soon became muddy in the rain but there was plenty of trees and shrubbery around. The little shop is excellent but the restaurant closed for the season while we were there. Facilities mixed and showers not always warm. La Rochelle worth a visit, especially the old harbour and there's a great market in the Chatelaillon-plage which sells all sorts of goodies. We would definitely stay here again when in the area
