Lac d'Esparron is one of the most beautiful spots in the Parc Régional du Verdon. Camping Le Soleil is located directly on this lake, just outside the lovely village of Esparron-de-Verdon (Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence). This is a great starting point for adventures on the lake and its tributary the Verdon River. This well-maintained campsite is located on a hill, so there are considerable height differences. Facilities include a playground, restaurant, shop and (in high season) entertainment.

What is the layout of this campsite?

The campsite offers plenty of space for touring campers. Accommodation is also available for rent, including modern mobile homes, lodges and various types of safari tents. Accommodations are mainly at the top of the site, close to the campsite entrance. Further down you will then find most of the pitches. Car-free sites for tent campers are even further towards the lake. Most of the pitches provide a great view of the water and surrounding mountains.

Swimming or boating on Lac d'Esparron

With its location on Lac d'Esparron, this is an ideal holiday address for water sports enthusiasts. Rent a canoe from reception, cruise the clear blue waters of the lake or the Verdon, and enjoy the surrounding countryside. Or take a refreshing dip from the campsite's own beach. Various fun activities are also organised in summer. For example, join a jeu de boules competition or a basketball tournament, or visit the welcoming restaurant in the evening for live music.

Liked - Clean, very clean facilities in the upper site, didn’t use the main sit ones, accessible to village but not too close, nice food onsite
Disliked - Only a tiny thing - the hedges in the top camping area could do with cutting to make the view better but that was really only a very small issue

  • On the A51, exit 18 towards Gréoux-les-Bains. Take the D962 and D315 towards Esparron-de-Verdon. Go past the village, from where the campsite is signposted.
