If want the best beaches in the South of France; want basic camping for your family, car and tent; want great surroundings; have low ambitions; this is the best campsite four you and your family.
Our suggestions: 1) please organize one Miele washing machine with coins at every sanitary block; 2) please arrange toilet bowls with toilet seats like in Germany.
Definitely this is the place to return to.
Felt dismay on arrival, the site looked like a rough piece of unkempt ground on steep slopes. We were told most pitches had electricity, but this wasn't obvious to us. Plus we had to ask for a fuse for the fuse box. We could have paid extra for higher wattage, but this was only explained by a fellow camper. Pitching could be really difficult with a caravan. Great views at the top, but had to weigh this up against the strong wind. Showers were hot but blocks were basic. No hot water to wash dishes, resorted to using a bucket to carry hot water from the shower block. Restaurant area was nice with free wi-fi near reception. Cycled east into St. Tropez and west towards Hyeres along good cycle paths
Cannot recommend this site if you have a caravan or large-ish camper, the site roads are very steep in places, with difficult access to many pitches which are themselves uneven. Sanitary blocks are basic but clean, strangely some have little or no lighting. Good position for coast & visiting Lavendu/Bormes.
We felt dubious on arrival as the site looked a bit of a shambles. Just by the office which is where we pitched, one pitch had a bonfire in the middlemade up of branches weeds etc. Next to our pitch was what looked like a dumped car and opposite was a very old camper with lots of mismatched plastic chairs tables and some rubbish. It looked a bit like a traveller site. The site and pitches were all on steep sloops and difficult to get on due to overgrown trees. No clear definition of where pitches ended. The bar was ok didn't try the food but the restaurant looked nice. We walked to the beach, quite a treck and had a go down 'an alley' full of dog pooh. Was on a very steep busy road so being an inexperienced cycler did not feel confident enough to venture out on our bikes. Nothing else apart from some take away bars no near village. Decided to leave asap in the morning and we went to Cavalaire sur mer. Fantastic town, beach lovely camp with better facilities same price
Basic site so quite expensive. Terraced and only partly open in low season so couldn't use the pitches at the top with the best views. Office open all day. Have to get a fuse for the electric before you can use it. Charged extra for 10 amp. Quite a long walk to the office. If you want to use wifi you sit on a table outside the bar. Didn't use it much as the mistral was quite strong when we were there and several people left because of it so the campsite was nearly empty. Small toilet blocks dotted about which were basic but clean and plenty of hot water. Difficult to fill up Aqua rolls, used a fire hose. Didn't use the bar but one of the other campers complained about the price. Would use it again out of season. some of the pitches looked a bit hard to get on if you didn't have a motor mover so I wouldn't want to be left with little choice.
Although I cannot comment on this site during the high season (might get busy), it is an absolute dream during the lower season period (and during the ACSI card price reduction period).
The sea views were amazing, the staff a delight, the bar inviting, the direct tunnel access to the beach charming (fine unless having mobility problems), the sanitaires (4 blocks) very pretty, clean & quirky. The stretch of coast between Cavalaire & Le Lavandou (amazing cycle path) are by far the prettiest part of the Cote D'azur, and this site is bang in the middle. It has a well stocked mini-market & daily bread even low season, although there is a large Carrefour within 5 miles. The beach is the prettiest in France (excepting, perhaps, at Rayol)
I could go on, although I shouldn't as if the site team weren't so deserving Id be keeping it to myself.
